[20] The speculations that she was going to replace Jay Carney White House Press secretary when he left White House in the year 21 were fuelled by her hire at the Department of State. However, Josh Earnest was announced as the replacement for Carney on May 30th, 2014. In 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
